Memo Pimiento launches in 2023 a new musical hybrid called Sabor a Sal (Salt Flavor); a
"space salsa" track that will be part of the new album Hybrid Gun, which was conceived and
recorded in Mexico City during the pandemic in a downtown hotel.
Sabor a Sal, talks about desire and sexuality in a nude and poetical way. Taken out jealousy,
possession and sexism. Memo as a man who loves women, sex and sensuality, searches for a
different way to be a Latino man and to talk about those themes out of the usual macho
music lyrics, like for example on Latin pop, full of competition, comparison and a lot of
frustration. Sang by Manon, with her sensual French accent allowing the male lyric to
express itself through a female side.

To embrace this theme, Memo uses the salsa, a genre that was characterized not only by its
rhythm but by its sensual themes, is reinterpreted with new sonic textures of synthesizers,
creating a new aesthetic that dances between Latin and space lo-fi sound, with voices in
autotune also referring to pop and electronic Arab music.
Sabor a Sal gives a new air to a genre such as Salsa, which had a brake in recent times due to
the high production costs, because of the number of musicians needed. The challenge was
to take back to modern times this music, here produced with lo-fi machines, the special
taste of Memo, giving an innovative and retro twist at the same time. The beat of the track is
frenetic, like the furtive sex is, like having sex on the beach with a secret lover.
For the promotion of this track will be released a video-clip flirting with hidden furtive chicsex,
never porn, where both male and female enjoy a kinky city escape.
